Today (March 14th) is National Pi Day.
You must find the circumference of every circle you come in contact with, write your findings down on a piece of cloth spun from gold, cut the cloth into 3.14 pieces, and sleep with them under you pillow for 3.14 days. Pi has played a vital role in my life to date. Chances are it has in yours as well. Take a moment to appreciate it.
It is my personal belief that pi does in fact repeat and all our math is bullshit.
(Except synthetic division. Now that’s just good plain fun.)

I prefer math with triangles to math with circles.

I know what zero to the zeroth power is! Sandy Bartholet told me.

Undefined. It took me a while to convince myself of this, because it seems like a total wimpout answer.

Any number N to the 0th power (N^0) can be defined as N ^ (i-i) where i is a positive integer. This is equivalent to (N ^i)/(N ^ i) . Now we choose i =1 for simplicity and we get N/N . Since 0/0 is undefined, that means that 0^0 is undefined.

This information will undoubtedly have many uses, from annoying your math profs to impressing interviewers. If nothing else, you can put it up on your web page.

Out of curiosity, did you get to my page through the peterme link or is there another link unknown to me?

Does anyone out there have proof that it’s really 1?

That’s all the math info I can handle.

We (the symphonic band) got a superior rating at Festival. We didn’t play as well as we could have, but it was fun and I got that warm fuzzy music feeling so all is forgiven. We did, after all, get a one. (1=superior 2=excellent 3=good 4=fair 5=poor I believe)

I’m resisting the urge to delete.
