Katharine Allen Tillman grew up next to a pecan orchard in Statesboro, Georgia, where she made intricate collages in shoeboxes and was often called by her double name. She now resides in the West Village neighborhood of New York City, where most people call her Kat. Katharine researches visual perception, object recognition, and reading at New York University. In addition to working full-time, Katharine is slowly working toward her undergraduate degree in psychology at NYU, which she would’ve finished a long time ago if she hadn’t run away and spent half a year hitchhiking and two years working at a yoga studio in Washington, DC. When she’s not pretending to be a scientist, Katharine can usually be found reading or writing or wondering around the City taking photographs. She has been keeping journals as long as she can remember, and has been online for a decade. She practices yoga at Jivamukti and Laughing Lotus, takes kungfu classes at New York Shao-lin, and gets all her shiatsu at Osaka. Katharine prefers sad love stories and baby pandas.
